School holiday program: Birds of Norah Head
About this Event
🐦 Explore beautiful tracks and scenery around Norah Head and learn how to identify the birds of the bush, cliffs and sea. Norah Head offers a selection of habitats from the ocean, rock platforms, sand dunes and forest. As such, birders can expect a wide variety of birds, from Shearwaters, Oystercatchers and Ospreys to Whipbirds and Brushturkeys. Join us and learn how to identify and record local species that contribute to citizen science! 📚 You will learn: - tips and tricks to help identify different species of bird from their call, behaviour and plumage - which birds are residents and which are seasonal visitors - about the ecology of the species we will see. This walk will suit anyone interested in birds. 🎒 Bring binoculars if you have them, water and enclosed shoes. The walk will be approximately 3km return.
