Perth's Anglican schools fall into two groups with no overlap in price. Seven schools run by AngliSchools — the network the Perth Diocesan Synod launched in 1985 — cost $6,438 to $14,704 for Year 7 in 2026, and seven independent Anglican schools cost $27,556 to $37,491. Nothing sits between $14,704 and $27,556, and the cheapest independent Anglican school costs 1.9 times the dearest AngliSchools school. An eighth AngliSchools school, John Septimus Roe, now shows only its 2027 schedule ($9,180). Every figure is the compulsory yearly cost for a Year 7 day student, read from the school's own schedule in October 2026.
The short answer. Cheapest Anglican school in Perth for Year 7: John Wollaston ($6,438, with some items billed extra). Dearest: St Hilda's ($37,491). That is 5.8 times apart, inside one denomination.
Key takeaways
- Two groups, one denomination. The median Year 7 cost is $8,245 at the seven AngliSchools schools with a 2026 schedule and $31,878 at the seven independent Anglican schools — 3.9 times as much.
- The gap is $12,852. The dearest AngliSchools school is St George's ($14,704); the cheapest independent Anglican school is All Saints' College ($27,556).
- It was designed that way. AngliSchools says it was set up in 1985 to offer affordable Anglican education to more families than the independent schools reach.
- Distance and sex split the groups too. All seven independent schools are within 13 km of the CBD and five are boys' or girls' schools; six of the eight AngliSchools schools are 20 km or more out, and all eight are co-ed day schools.
- Getting in costs less, too. The seven independent schools bill $6,000 to $9,300 on acceptance of a place; the three AngliSchools schools that print the amount bill $700 to $2,780.

Why do Perth's Anglican school fees sit in two groups?
Because the two groups are run on different models. AngliSchools — formerly the Anglican Schools Commission — was set up in 1985 after a resolution of the Perth Diocesan Synod, and its own history page says the aim was "to provide access to affordable Christian education in the Anglican tradition to more families", because independent Anglican schools "were unable to be accessed by many families". Its schools are co-ed day schools; its site says "Each school is owned by AngliSchools and operates under its policies", and a school's own page says its fees are "set annually by the School Council and approved by AngliSchools". Twelve of its schools are in Western Australia; eight of those are within about 45 km of the Perth CBD and are covered here.
The seven independent Anglican schools — Christ Church Grammar, Hale, St Hilda's, St Mary's, Perth College, Guildford Grammar and All Saints' College — are not on AngliSchools' list of member schools. Each is governed by its own council or board and sets its own fees.

Where a school bills a compulsory item without printing the amount (camps, devices, textbooks), the last column says so and the figure is a floor. St George's, in the CBD, is the dearest AngliSchools school: $14,704 against $6,438 to $12,920 at the other six. Its own page says its tuition is set each year by its School Council.

What does it cost to accept a place?
Entry costs follow the same split. The independent Anglican schools bill a one-off fee when a family accepts an offer; the AngliSchools schools that print one bill far less.

Each school’s own 2026 fee schedule · aroundschools.com.au
At Perth College and St Mary's the fee is stated as 25% of Year 7 tuition, so the dollar amounts above are our arithmetic from the 2026 tuition.
What else is different about the two groups?
- Single-sex or co-ed. Five of the seven independent schools are boys' or girls' schools (Christ Church, Hale, St Hilda's, St Mary's and Perth College); all eight AngliSchools schools are co-ed.
- Boarding. Six of the seven independent schools take boarders (All Saints' is a day school); AngliSchools describes its schools as day schools.
- Where they are. The independent schools sit 2.5 to 12.9 km from the CBD, across the inner, river and western suburbs. Of the eight AngliSchools schools, six are about 20 km or more out — Hillarys, Aveley, Camillo, Mindarie, Wellard and Alkimos — and the other two are Mirrabooka (10.3 km) and the CBD (0.5 km).
- How the fee is built. The independent schools mostly quote one comprehensive figure; the AngliSchools schools itemise tuition, a resource or fixed charge, a technology levy and a camp, and several add a per-family building levy (for example $450 at John Wollaston, $410 at Peter Carnley and $500 at Swan Valley).
None of that tells you which school suits your child. We hold fees, locations and sectors, but no academic results for Western Australian schools, so this guide does not rank schools on outcomes; use My School and the School Curriculum and Standards Authority.
Who is nearby after 3pm?
Our suburb guides list kids' activities within 5 km of each school's suburb. Around the independent schools: Mount Lawley (Perth College) 82, Claremont (Christ Church Grammar) 49, Bull Creek (All Saints' College) 48, Mosman Park (St Hilda's) 43, Karrinyup (St Mary's) 41, Wembley Downs (Hale School) 34; Guildford doesn't have a suburb guide yet. Around the AngliSchools schools: Perth city centre (St George's) 82, Hillarys (St Mark's) 31, Mindarie (Peter Moyes) 23, Wellard (Peter Carnley) 13, and Aveley (Swan Valley) 0. Mirrabooka, Camillo and Alkimos don't have a suburb guide yet. Counts come from our directory on 23 October 2026 and show what is listed with us, not everything that runs — in the outer suburbs, ask the school what runs after 3pm and how students get there.
For a zoned government school near any address, use the school catchment checker, and browse every Western Australian school on our fees and profiles pages.
What will 2027 cost?
Three of these schools have published 2027 Year 7 fees, and all three are up between 5.4% and 7.6%:
| School | 2026 Year 7 | 2027 Year 7 | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Guildford Grammar School | $31,255 | $33,634 | +7.6% |
| St George's Anglican Grammar School | $14,704 | $15,528 | +5.6% |
| St Mark's Anglican Community School | $12,920 | $13,622 | +5.4% |
John Septimus Roe's 2027 tuition is $9,180; its 2026 schedule is no longer online, so no change can be calculated. The other Anglican schools still show 2026 fees. Most Perth schools publish in November and December, so ask each school for its 2027 schedule once it is out.
Questions to ask each school
- What is the total compulsory cost for my child's year level, including camps, a device and textbooks?
- Which levies are per student and which are per family, and what is billed once on acceptance?
- What are the 2027 fees, and when are they confirmed?
- What is the enrolment policy for families who aren't Anglican? AngliSchools says its schools are open to all; ask each independent school for its own policy.
- What runs after 3pm, and what does it cost?
