Perth Private School Fees 2026: 41 Schools, $2,850 to $37,713

Perth Private School Fees 2026: 41 Schools, $2,850 to $37,713

Of the 41 Perth private schools whose 2026 fee schedules we read, Methodist Ladies' College is the dearest for Year 7, at $37,713 a year — $222 ahead of St Hilda's ($37,491) and $540 ahead of Christ Church Grammar ($37,173). Al-Ameen College is the cheapest, at $2,850, and the median is $12,188. Each figure is the compulsory yearly cost for a Year 7 day student, read from the school's own 2026 schedule in October 2026. Scotch College has already replaced its schedule with 2027 fees ($38,810), so it can't be set beside the 2026 figures.

The short answer. Dearest for Year 7 in 2026: Methodist Ladies' College, $37,713. Ten schools bill between $30,620 and $37,713, and nine of them are single-sex. Below them the range runs from $27,556 down to $2,850.

Key takeaways

  • The dearest ten sit within $7,093 of each other ($30,620 to $37,713) and nine of the ten are single-sex. The one co-ed school in the group is Guildford Grammar ($31,255).
  • The range is 13 to 1. Year 7 runs from $2,850 (Al-Ameen) to $37,713 (Methodist Ladies' College), with a median of $12,188 across the 41 schools.

  • Distance explains the price. Of the 14 schools more than 16 km from the CBD, the dearest is Lake Joondalup Baptist College at about $13,014.
  • 2027 fees have started to appear. Guildford Grammar is up 7.6%, St George's 5.6% and St Mark's 5.4%. Most Perth schools publish in November and December.

What does Year 7 cost at each Perth school in 2026?

"Compulsory" means tuition plus every fixed per-student charge on the school's schedule; per-family levies, one-off enrolment fees and voluntary donations are left out. Where a school bills a compulsory item without printing the amount (camps, devices), the last column says so and the figure is a floor. Distances are straight-line from the Perth CBD, from the school locations in our directory.

Why is there almost nothing between $20,000 and $30,000?

Because Perth's schools sort into three groups, and the groups don't overlap. Fifteen schools bill under $10,000 and thirteen bill $10,000 to $19,999. Only All Saints' College ($27,556), Aquinas College ($24,939) and Trinity College ($23,376) sit between $20,000 and $30,000. Below Trinity the next price is $17,315, a drop of $6,061.

So what: only 3 of 41 schools sit between $20,000 and $30,000. Perth has a low tier, a mid tier and a $30,000 tier, with almost nothing between the last two.

Each school’s own 2026 fee schedule · aroundschools.com.au

At the other end, the ten schools above $30,000 are packed into a $7,093 band. Moving from the 10th-dearest school (St Mary's, $30,620) to the 11th (All Saints', $27,556) is a $3,064 step; the same step between the fifth and sixth dearest is $1,175.

Why are the dearest schools almost all single-sex?

Thirteen of the 41 schools are single-sex, and their median Year 7 cost is $31,878 against $9,570 for the 28 co-ed schools — 3.3 times as much. Nine of the ten schools at $30,000 or more are boys' or girls' schools. Guildford Grammar, at $31,255, is the exception.

Read that carefully. It describes which schools happen to be single-sex in Perth — old, well-endowed and sited along the river and the western suburbs — not a price attached to single-sex teaching. All 13 single-sex schools are within 12.1 km of the CBD, and four of them are Catholic (Aquinas $24,939, Trinity $23,376, Iona $17,300, Santa Maria $17,289) and cost far less than the independent ones. Our national comparison, single-sex versus co-ed fees, shows the same pattern outside Perth.

Does the price fall with distance from the CBD?

Not in a straight line, but beyond 13 km it falls hard. The median Year 7 cost is $17,315 within 8 km (11 schools), $30,938 between 8 and 13 km (12 schools), $10,172 between 13 and 20 km (10 schools) and $7,923 beyond 20 km (8 schools).

So what: seven of the ten $30,000 schools sit 8 to 13 km out. None of the 14 schools more than 16 km from the CBD bills more than about $13,000.

Each school’s own 2026 fee schedule; distances from our directory · aroundschools.com.au

Seven of the ten $30,000 schools are in the 8 to 13 km ring — in Claremont, Mosman Park, Peppermint Grove, Wembley Downs, Karrinyup and Guildford — and the other three (Wesley, Perth College and Penrhos) are within 6 km. Of the 14 schools more than 16 km out, the dearest is Lake Joondalup Baptist College at about $13,014, and the cheapest of the 14 is Kolbe Catholic College at $5,720.

What do Catholic schools in Perth cost?

The 16 Catholic schools in the table have a median Year 7 cost of $9,436, from $5,493 (La Salle College) to $24,939 (Aquinas College). Eleven of the 16 bill under $12,000. Two sit at $23,000 to $25,000 (Aquinas and Trinity, both run by Edmund Rice Education Australia), and three sit within $26 of each other at about $17,300: John XXIII College ($17,315), Iona Presentation College ($17,300) and Santa Maria College ($17,289).

"Catholic Education WA" does not mean one price. Iona and Chisholm both describe themselves as Catholic Education WA schools; Iona bills $17,300 for Year 7 and Chisholm $6,495. Our national comparison, Catholic versus independent fees, shows the gap at state level.

Which Perth schools aren't in the table?

  • Scotch College now shows only its 2027 schedule: $37,920 tuition plus an $890 device levy, $38,810, effective 1 October 2026. Its 2026 schedule is no longer online, so it isn't ranked against the 2026 figures.
  • John Septimus Roe Anglican Community School shows only 2027: Year 7 tuition of $9,180 (the capital and P&F levies are per family extra).
  • Holy Cross College (Ellenbrook) publishes one all-in annual fee, $6,790 for a first child in Year 7, with no split between tuition and levies, so it can't be set beside the table.
  • Mercy College, Prendiville Catholic College, Irene McCormack Catholic College, St Norbert College and Quinns Baptist College publish fee schedules on websites that block automated reading. Open the school's own fees page in a browser for the current figure.
  • Australian Islamic College (Kewdale) doesn't publish a tuition schedule; ask the school for the year your child starts.

Treat any comparison site's figure as a lead until you have seen the school's own schedule. Several figures online are tuition only, a different year, or another school's.

What do the fees leave out?

The tables show what each school makes compulsory and prices on its schedule. Five things sit outside them:

  • Per-family levies. Kolbe bills a $466 building levy and a $136 P&F levy per family; Sacred Heart Sorrento bills $948 and $90 to the first child; Al-Ameen's building levy is $200, $300 or $400 a year depending on how many children are enrolled; Perth College bills a $1,089 facilities and maintenance levy per family.
  • One-off entry fees. Perth College's Future Development Fund is 25% of current Year 7 tuition (about $7,772 at the 2026 rate, our arithmetic), payable on acceptance of a place.
  • Camps and devices without a price. Perth College's compulsory camps, Hale's Outdoor Education camps (about $128 a day) and Peter Moyes' notebook levy and camps are billed extra without a printed annual amount.
  • Music and electives. Aquinas lists music tuition at $2,080 a year plus $532 instrument hire.
  • Fee changes during the year. PLC reissued its 2026 schedule from 1 July 2026; the figure here is the reissued one.

Schools also discount for siblings and for paying a year in advance. Always ask each school for the total compulsory cost for your child's year level.

What will Perth schools bill in 2027?

Three schools in the table have already published 2027 Year 7 fees, and all three are up between 5.4% and 7.6%:

School2026 Year 72027 Year 7Change
Guildford Grammar School$31,255$33,634+7.6%
St George's Anglican Grammar School$14,704$15,528+5.6%
St Mark's Anglican Community School$12,920$13,622+5.4%

The rest are still on 2026. Carey Baptist College says its fees are confirmed in "mid-to-late November" and Kennedy Baptist College says new rates are confirmed "around November", so most Perth schools should publish by December. If your child starts Year 7 in 2027, plan on the 2026 figure plus roughly 5% to 8%, then ask the school for its 2027 schedule when it is out.

Who is nearby after 3pm?

Fees are one half of a shortlist; the other is what a child does outside class. Our Perth family guide lists 82 kids' activities within 5 km of the city centre. Around the schools in the table, Mount Lawley (Perth College) lists 82 within 5 km, Como (Penrhos) 56, Claremont (Christ Church and MLC) 49, Bull Creek (All Saints') 48, Mosman Park (St Hilda's and Iona) 43, Swanbourne 41, Karrinyup (St Mary's) 41, Peppermint Grove (PLC) 41 and Wembley Downs (Hale) 34. Counts come from our directory on 23 October 2026 and show what is listed with us, not everything that runs.

Every figure is taken from the school's own 2026 fee schedule (its PDF or fees page), read between 23 October 2026 and the date shown on this page; Scotch College's and John Septimus Roe's figures are from their own 2027 schedules. Wesley College's schedule was read from an archived copy of its own PDF dated 20 May 2026; Aquinas College, John Wollaston Anglican Community School and Scotch College publish through Issuu and were read from the school's own embedded document. Totals, medians, percentages and distances are our own arithmetic from those figures and our directory's school locations. Boarding is excluded. The 41 schools are the Perth-area non-government secondary schools with more than 900 students in our data (within 45 km of the CBD) that publish a readable Year 7 schedule, plus four smaller Anglican schools (St George's, John Wollaston, Peter Carnley and St James').
